History

Countrywide is a consortium of model bus operators, all members of the Model Bus Federation, who operate express coach services throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Countrywide was initiated in 1985 by a number of operators, who agreed to operate a number of services through Birmingham at 1500 hrs. This was intended to maximise the number of journey opportunities for the fledgling consortium.

Since the early days, Countrywide has expanded considerably. There are services which cover the majority of the UK, and also into Europe through the Eurowide network.

Countrywide services are carefully co-ordinated by the site author in order to maximise both journey opportunities and vehicle utilisation. Examples of this may be seen throughout the timetables, where many routes have their direct service enhanced by the use of connecting services.

A full list of services operated can be found by clicking on the Timetables page.
